Craig Kain, PhD

Licensed Psychologist

My work is rooted in emotional attunement, the ability to deeply connect with my clients, creating a safe and supportive environment where emotions can be explored and validated. I am committed  to building  a sense of trust, understanding, and mutual respect in my therapeutic relationship with you.

I Believe Emotional Wellness Matters.

Taking care of your emotions is really important. Whether you’re thinking about trying therapy for the first time or you’ve been in therapy before, it’s okay to feel unsure about choosing a therapist. Here are four things about me that might help you with your decision.

I believe in client-centric
care

I believe you’re  unique, and your therapy should reflect that uniqueness. I prioritize collaboration, tailoring treatment plans to align with each client’s specific needs, preferences, and goals. By placing you at the heart of the therapeutic process, I aim to fostering in you a sense of ownership and agency resulting in meaningful and lasting change.

I use evidence -based techniques

I use therapeutic approaches  in my work that have been studied and shown to be effective in addressing various mental health concerns. By using evidence-based care, I can provide you with effective care tailored to your unique needs, ultimately fostering positive outcomes and enhancing your overall well-being.

I take an accepting
non-critical approach

Shame, feeling bad about who we are, is a huge contributing factor to emotional distress. I approach my clients in a  non-critical way, inviting curiosity and self-compassion. Together we’ll navigate challenges with kindness and acceptance. In our work, you are free to be yourself, knowing that you are valued and respected.

I am
responsive
to your feedback

I value the your perspective and am willing to adapt my approach based on your needs. Patients come from diverse backgrounds with unique cultural, social, and personal contexts. Your feedback allows me to address any cultural differences or sensitivities that may impact our therapeutic relationship.
